District Improves Poll Site Efficiency with New Technology

AUSTIN, Texas – June 30, 2010 – Hart InterCivic, a leading national provider of election voting systems, management products and services, announced today it will supply the District of Columbia with electronic poll books that will provide efficiencies in processing voters on Election Day. The District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics conducted a thorough competitive bidding and technical evaluation process to modernize voter processing.
Developed in partnership with Scytl Secure Electronic Voting, the Hart ePollBook™ features an easy-to-use touchscreen netbook that synchronizes voter registration data in real-time and increases the efficiency of voter check-in and verification processes at the polling location. The ePollBook solution will be deployed for use in the upcoming 2010 Primary and General elections.

The ePollBook also allows a faster determination of voter counts for periodic status calls, faster upload of voter history to the master voter registration database and supports same-day registration.
